Hope of Glory

We are a multicultural Pentecostal church located in inner city Melbourne, Australia. Our focus is on the local community of Prahran and the surrounding areas, which belong to the Stonnington municipality. This inner-city area is well-known for its affluent suburbs, arts, entertainment, cafes & shopping strips.

We are passionate about God, people & life in Jesus. We believe that true life is only found in Jesus, who is still the Way to God. We believe in people being connected to one another as God's divine pattern, in a world of increasing isolation & superficiality. We believe that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead and He is Lord of all Heaven & earth. And we can live by the same power of the Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, who also is transforming us to be like Jesus.

Our Mission

We believe that the love of Jesus breaks down all walls, connecting people to their Maker and to one another regardless of race or family backgrounds; and His power equips all who would believe to live wholesome, fulfilled and purposeful lives.

This is our heart, our passion and our mission. We have been called to an inner urban area to build a local church that reflects the whole Gospel of Jesus Christ, the good news of love, forgiveness, connections, healings, restorations, reconciliation, hope, faith, eternity and good works.

Who We Are
Our story began with two people from different parts of the world meeting in Israel, believing that each holds the other half of one’s vision for the future. In the first year of our marriage, we sought God for His plans for our lives. Thus birthed the seed which became “Hope of Glory”, Prahran Assemblies of God.

In late 1996, we started the church with five precious people whom God has ordained for us to care for and to bring into wholeness. Today, these people are the pillars of our church.

We are a real-issues church - upholding God’s truth in the light of His grace. We believe in making strong disciples for Jesus Christ. We believe in the Divine God interacting with our everyday lives. We believe in the power of Jesus to restore, empower, and transform every yielded believer.

We also believe in community actions and have built many bridges in the community, especially with the local Ministry of Housing residents. We have a healthy children’s outreach program, which sees the love of God touching many unchurched children and their families.

Our Sunday services feature dynamic preaching for practical living. Our extended worship time is prophetic, Holy Spirit inspired and God-focussed. We allow time for people to experience the presence of God.
